Well, hello!

I've been staying in Medistra hospital since the evening of Feb 22nd, so this is the fourth day.

Quick surgery report:

Mom's kidney stone major surgery on Feb 23rd went well. She spent about 3 hours inside the surgery & recovery room, so I think the surgery itself took about 2 - 2.5 hours. After that, she was moved to the ICU for monitoring, spent a night there, and moved back to room #501 at 9am on the following day. Her condition is good, only the part around the incised wound area hurts very much, so she can't mobilize a lot & must stay intact for the post-incised wound to recover asap.
With that being said, I think she will be dismissed no sooner than Sunday.

I've been inside the hospital (and never once taken a step out) since I came in on Feb 22, and I must say that by now I'm really very bored!
I did bring my 1TB harddisk external full of dorama, movies, and other videos, but I haven't got the urge to see them. All I wanna do is go back home and sleep on my comfortable bed. After all, nothing is better than being home! I miss home already ;_;

Although I have 24/7 connection to the internet via my Blackberry, for some unknown reasons my Bold keeps going on SOS mode every so often, especially inside room #501. It's really weird! The BIS connection goes up and down a lot, too. So I can't really get online much.

Actually there's wifi connection on the 5th, 7th, and 8th floor, but the signal in this room is really very bad (like only 1 bar or 2 at most!). It gets better if I go outside the room. So everytime I want to get online, I must bring my (dad's, actually) laptop out to the nurse station/5th floor reception area until my laptop battery runs out. Too bad there's no lounge on 5th floor. I'm too lazy to go to 7th or 8th floor lounge area, so I usually just sit at the corner of the nurse station, borrowing a chair from the nurses :P

This evening will be the first time I set my feet out from the hospital, to attend Ash Wednesday mass at St. Theresia at 6pm. A breathe of fresh air, finally!

My mom was diagnosed with a kidney stone, for the 2nd time. This one is pretty big, too, about one third the size of a kidney! A major surgery is needed, because of the large size, making it impossible to use other easier methods (such as ESWL).

She had had a kidney stone (smaller in size compared to now) removed before in Oct 2002, using the ESWL method. Many articles I've researched online say that "once a person gets more than one stone, other stones are likely to develop". It's also hereditary, making it easier for me & my brother to develop stones. But because we siblings love to drink lots and lots of water (like, more than 10 glasses a day!), I'd like to think that the chance is minimized.

As much as I should be worried about mom's major surgery, I'm more faithful than ever.
The major surgery is scheduled on Feb 23rd. Please pray for us ^^

"There are those relationships that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous..."
