Bargain Books
May. 1st, 2003 03:04 amSomething as simple as books can really make my day.
Consider this.
Yesterday, April 30, I was about to buy Essential Japanese (retail for US$16.95). The salesperson told me that starting today, May 1, some of the books would be discounted.
So I went to buy the book today, only to discover that the price was still the same. What's funny, though, the barcode displayed $4 when they scanned it. But the salesperson still insisted that the correct price was $16.95. So I paid for the book.
Somehow got the feeling, I still hung around there, while also helping my friend finding English to English dictionary. A moment later, the salesperson approached me apologetically and told me that the correct price was indeed $4. They checked at the price list and the book was indeed discounted 80%. Nice, isn't it?
Thank God I was still in the area. What if I had gone straight back to the office?
It really makes my day! :)
Here are more bargain books I bought today that complete my happiness:
Entree To Asia: A Culinary Adventure With Thomas Robson for $4
The Art of Forgiving: When You Need to Forgive and Don't Know How for $2.2
The Design of Cost Management Systems: Text, Cases, and Readings for $5.5
Robinson's Basic Nutrition and Diet Therapy for $3.5
Ehehehehe =D
*full of satisfaction*
