Colorful Tour Eiffel on New Year 2009

Although it's been more than a week that I'm back from the Europe holiday, I still have a pretty hard time concentrating on real life & its daily activities. A part of me still lingers in Europe, I suppose.

I left my heart in Paris... (*´▽`*)

Anyhow..
Here's what Tour Eiffel looked like before, during, and after New Year's countdown 2009.

For the New Year's story, read my New Year post.

I still can't believe it's 2009 already! 2008 went by so fast! ( ̄□ ̄;)
I'm gonna be 30 this year, eeeep! (゜◇゜)

Bonne Année!

Bonne année 2009 à tous!

May this new year bring many opportunities to your way,
to explore every joy of life...
And may your resolutions for the days ahead stay firm,
turning all your dreams into reality,
and all your efforts into great achievements.

Wishing everyone a very happy new year from freezing Tour Eiffel, Paris ♥
Although freezing, I still love the lights, buildings, and scenery of Paris ^^

The taxi from Tour Eiffel to our hotel cost €40! O_O Normally it costs less than €15! Oh well, it's new year, what can I say...
Walking is absolutely not an option in this weather (-4°C at night!). Metro has ceased operation after midnight. It was really hard to stop a taxi, and the traffic around Tour Eiffel was pretty much jammed. Although my bro regretted not having tried to bargain at all...

In truth, I wanted to stay warm in our very nice aparthotel (Adagio City Paris Opera) and sleep over the new year countdown (for I'm too tired & in need of a looong sleep), but it would've been such a waste of opportunity (above all things) to miss the Paris experience of new year! So, after a 2-hour rest, we headed out to dinner at a nearby Japanese restaurant called Tsubomi (owned by a Chinese :P), and from there went to Tour Eiffel by taxi. Too cold, too lazy, and too tired to take the metro. Waited at Tour Eiffel around 1 hour, freezing obviously, but took that opportunity to take lots of photos :D It was very crowded, and the firework was so standard,  it made me disappointed. I totally expected a much more grandeur celebration! But the flashing lights on Tour Eiffel at 00.00 was really pretty :)

Btw, I need a Euro sign (€) on my keyboard! -_- I hate having to copy & paste it all the time.

Will write later when I've reached Singapore (or Jakarta).
Au revoir! ~~
