Yes, that's what I always do whenever I go to Semarang. In fact, that's the only activity in this tiny city! The distance from one place to another is too close, it always takes too short of a time, totally the contrary of Jakarta xD I often found myself with nothing else to do before the next food session :D Thank God for BlackBerry, I wasn't too bored!

So I had culinary trips today: breakfast of nasi liwet in front of St. Joseph elementary, lunch at Warung Mak Tompo (opposite of Koh Liem), early dinner at Lind's Cafe (praline mochaccino ice cream, of course!), dinner with my cousin at Pesta Keboen, continued by dessert at Lind's Cafe (yes, the same ice cream again xD).

Tomorrow morning I'm planning to meet [livejournal.com profile] utaoutao. Hopefully we can wake up early :D Gonna be the last day in Semarang, so more culinary trips in order before our 3p flight tomorrow ^^

And here are the photos at Lind's of my cousin and I, taken by my bro.

Trying out the awesome LJ email post via BlackBerry like [livejournal.com profile] nefretiriii did here in her entry (thanks a lot for the instructions, Mel!). I totally agree with her BB vs iPhone rant there xD

I'm in Semarang now, accompanying my mom on her dad's grave yearly visit (aka Ceng Beng / Qing Ming), with my bro since yesterday. Today is a national holiday ^^

The night before our 1p plane trip to Semarang, I didn't sleep at all. Instead, I watched Voice until episode 10 (and skimmed through the last episode, although the subtitle is not out yet, because I was curious to know the ending :D). As usual since the beginning, I cried in (almost) every episode (!!), because each story is really touching and it makes me think a lot about life (and death). Because of that, my sinusitis (which is in the recovery stage) came back to haunt me during the plane ride and in this cold hotel room (although the temp is set to 27°C!).

Having no sleep at all the night before really made me drowsy, so I literally crashed bed upon arriving in this hot & humid city yesterday afternoon. We managed to stop by Tan Goei restaurant (at jl. Tanjung 25) to buy takeaway food en route to the hotel, because we planned to stay in and took a (long) nap. Turned out it wasn't a nap afterall, for I slept from 6p to 2.30a! *lol*
Had late supper/early breakfast at 3a, and now I'm typing all this before (hopefully) going back to sleep. 5 am already, but still sleepy...

Well, I'm home, since last nite (Nov 9 at 8p).
Vacation's over. Hello, real life!

And this is what awaited me at home: my dear PC failed to start! Eeep *_*
I had to do some works, so I used my mom's laptop. But the internet was sooo slow, it got on my nerves, so I ended up going to sleep & abandoning work altogether *lol*

About my PC: turned out the power supply & UPS were broken. So today I sent it to my cousin who works in IT and he put a brand new power supply in it. The UPS still needs to be inspected, but at least the PC can be used again, after spending a day off. At first, the monitor went flickering without reason, so I unplugged & replugged the monitor-to-CPU cable & restarted the PC, and thankfully it was fixed. Only 3 hours ago the computer went back alive, pretty safely. Phew.

I didn't really do anything today, since the electricity went down just when I was about to start work! -_-
C'mon Indonesia, what's the matter with these frequent power down lately? It's getting really annoying!

So I ended up twittering nonsense twits and dozing off for a while (since I was still very tired), and got a blissful &  relaxing body massage in the evening. What a great way to ease the mind & fatigue body!

Australia story will be written in the next entry, hopefully ^^

My Blackberry went in silentium for a long time & more than once in Australia. Perhaps it had to do with data (GPRS) availability in that area. The longest it went silent was in Perth, for 3 days. When I arrived in Melbourne, suddenly the BIS went alive again and I got 150 unread emails xD Then it went silent again for a few hours, and on again, and off again, just like that all the way to Sydney & finally went back alive in Jakarta.

I might be going to Sydney again next January with 5 other people. It's gonna be merry.... or perhaps not, since we're going there for a ministry :P

After months of waiting and thinking over & over again, I finally decided to get Blackberry Bold. It's a belated birthday gift from dad. At first, I wanted a Blackberry Bold, but because it was so expensive when it first came out (around Rp. 12.5 million), I was thinking of getting a Blackberry Curve 8320 + iPod touch instead.

So 2 weeks ago I came to the Blackberry Shop at Ambassador mall to buy BB 8320 sunset. But after seeing the real thing, I got turned off by the design & the fact that it doesn't have 3G & HSDPA (meaning, I can't use it in Japan). My mom, who went with me, successfully convinced me to get BB Bold instead for those two main reasons.

I gotta say... I'm so happy with it. I do realize that BB Bold still have some problems with the initial firmware, such as the short battery life (because the phone is always seeking for wifi & 3g reception when they're turned on). But I'm sure the problems will be fixed with the new OS upgrade(s).

I'm extremely happy with its ability to be online 24/7 (whenever I'm at home, I switch to my dear computer, of course), therefore I'm always in touch with my emails, and my messengers are always on (YM, MSN, GTalk). I've always known that what I need all along is the ability to get online anytime I want to, especially to check emails, update my Twitter, check movie times, and google something. I used to get online via GPRS on my Nokia phones, and it cost me a lot of money! With Blackberry, the BIS is Rp. 180,000 monthly for unlimited data plan. Nice, isn't it?

In total, I spent a bit more than Rp. 9.5 million for the Bold itself, 8gb micro SD card, anti scratch screen protector, and the awesome red skin case. It's a crackberry now. I'm officially addicted!

"There are those relationships that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous..."
